When Roger and Jane Speicher designed and built the North Star Civic Center in Huntington, Indiana, their goal was to provide a comfortable and affordable setting for wedding receptions, business luncheons, and corporate seminars. The Speicher's opened the North Star in late 1999 and booked their first wedding reception on February 13th, 2000. Since then North Star has been the reception center of choice in Huntington and the surrounding area.
The North Star Civic Center is easily accessible, yet situated in the quiet confines of the northern Huntington area. Today, businesses regularly conduct conferences and seminars at the North Star, brides and grooms host their wedding rehearsals and receptions here, and many exchange their wedding vows in one of the North Star's three formal suites including, the Cypress and the East and West Sable suites.
Due to the wide-spread success of the North Star, the Speichers launched The Landmark Reception & Conference Centre in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 2006. Today, both The Landmark and the North Star are notably two of the finest reception and conference centers in northeast Indiana.
